We appreciate your interest in renting from us and hope you enjoy Ten Mile Lake as much as we do.

The lake is spring fed, which gives it water clarity often ranked among the top five lakes in the state. The spring fed origin of Ten Mile makes it refreshing for swimming; the water temperature is usually about 65-70 degrees, even in July and August. It can be quite a shock at first when swimming!

The cabin, though only about 30 years old, sits on land owned by the descendants of Charles C. Ball. He came to Ten Mile from Boone, Iowa in 1914 and saw our point from the north shore. He loved the beauty of Ten Mile so much he subsequently bought 33 acres for $375 without ever stepping foot on our property. Ball's descendants still own the property all the way to the point.

Our area is now encompassed by Chippewa National Forest. This and the area's remoteness have saved the lake from overdevelopment that takes place elsewhere. That is the way we like it-- primitive-- and we hope you do too!
